TERP is the alumni magazine for the University of Maryland. For each issue, I worked with our team of designers and the university photographer to create striking and thought-provoking concepts and images to illustrate stories from the campus community. Impact was a newsletter published by the University of Maryland’s Research Division. Impact features the work of faculty across campus and was created to inform stakeholders who control grant funding for research projects of vital developments and discoveries. The publication evolved from a four-panel design that included three two-sided inserts to a six-panel format. This decision cut production costs by 35% and made it a more succinct read for busy stakeholders.
SustainableUMD chronicles the energy conservation and sustainability research and practices of the University of Maryland. These sample feature spreads appeared in the first and second issues of the biennial publication designed to frame colorful images with white space. When NPR added a west coast “outpost,” an existing silo at the front of the building presented the opportunity to create a signature feature.

Go. Be. Do. is a fictitious lifestyle enhancement app that uses your preferences to create customized leisure experiences for you. In addition to developing a business plan and presentation pitch for this media startup, I used a variety of skills: design, illustration, web development, marketing, producing, directing, filming, songwriting, sound mixing, editing (patience) and communication. Part of the final presentation included the sizzle reel, which uses the 1961 song, Zou Bisou Bisou (Shepard and Tew) as the starting point.
A high-energy visual identity was created to represent an app accessible on multiple platforms.Sections of the app were designed to demonstrate the user experience.
